Poetry After Dark: Tonight!

TONIGHT! Free poetry! Free wine and cheese! Free train ride through the Zoo! Free music!

Latter library is collaborating with the Audubon Zoo on Thurs Nov 12 at 6pm to host "Poetry After Dark"

Hop on the zoo's train for a free ride to the Louisiana Swamp Exhibit. Poetry readings will begin at 6 pm followed by book signings by Mark Doty and Nevada Barr at 7pm. Books will be available for sale by the Garden District Book Shop. During the evening, you'll enjoy the sounds of a jazz trio along with free soft drinks, wine and cheese. This free event is a kickoff for "The Language of Conservation", an initiative made possible through a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to incorporate poetry installations throughout the Audubon Zoo.
Crying over you


Acting Up (in Acadiana) will peform PLAY.MUSIC.HEAL. at 7 p.m. Friday, 9 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Peter’s Piano Place, 3811 Chartres St., in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Fringe Festival features 40 groups from around the country presenting more than 120 shows in venues across the city Nov. 11-15.
